Cervical issues are a common concern in dressage horses, significantly impacting both their performance and overall welfare. This presentation explores the most frequently diagnosed cervical problems, highlighting their effects and key considerations for rehabilitation. By understanding these issues, owners and practitioners can develop targeted strategies to address the unique needs of each horse, promoting recovery and enhancing performance.

Dr Morgan Lashley, DVM, Dipl. ECVSMR, CERP
Morgan has been practicing equine veterinary medicine both in the Netherlands and internationally since her graduation in 2009. Specializing in orthopedic issues in sport horses, she has focused her career on diagnosing and rehabilitating these athletes. As an experienced dressage rider competing at Prix St. Georges level, Morgan offers a unique understanding of a rider’s perspective, often taking to the saddle herself when necessary.She previously owned and managed an equine rehabilitation center, where she gained extensive hands-on experience utilizing advanced technologies, including an underwater treadmill and a dry treadmill, to support effective rehabilitation techniques.In February 2022, Morgan successfully passed the entrance exam for the European College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation. As of April 2023, she serves as a clinician at Utrecht University, continuing her dedication to advancing equine health and performance.
