21 Point Automatic Digitisation Module (2D) and Markers

This tool allows the user to digitise there own video images in 2D. From this you can create specific markers or an 21 point anatomical model. Distances, velocities and accelerations of both linear and angular motion can be calculated and displayed in the analysis window.

Horizontal, Vertical and Diagonal Calibration:

There are four options to calibrate a video file within Quintic

  1. Horizontal and vertical calibration of a known distance (1 M rule)

  2. Horizontal calibration

  3. Vertical calibration

  4. Any distance calibration

All calibrations can be metric or imperial. This calibration process is required for the analysis programme.

Frame Templates:

You can select the number of points to be used in the digitisation process (1 - 21). In the example below 12 points are selected to illustrate the horse fore limb and hind limb alternatively markers can be applied to riders anatomical structures. Each point can be named for example, Wither, Scapula, Point of Shoulder, Elbow, Carpus, Fetlock..... The colour of each point can be altered by a single right click on the colour box. The step size can also be altered for lower digitisation frequency plus the pen size can be altered changing the size of the lines connecting the markers.

Edit Current Frame Displays:
This feature allows you to undo your last digitised points and also create a trace of existing points to increase accuracy. Crosses, and lines allow you to view previous digitised points. Any trace can be saved and then added to at a later date.

Overlay Animation:
All animations can be overlaid onto video files and viewed synchronised with the video footage. 3 options of animation display are offered: lines, smoothed lines and crosses. The first two are shown below. 3 options of animation trace are provided, individual frame, complete and progressive. The progressive trace is shown below.

Split Screen Animation Window:

Animation figures can also be seen in a separate animation window. This window is synchronised with the main window. The animation window contains the single image capture feature
and can also be used for multi-captures as shown below.

Interactive Graphs and Data:
All graphs and data produced in the Quintic Digitisation module are interactive with the video file. The graphs and data values change as the video plays frame by frame. This allows distances, velocities and accelerations to be displayed in the graphical window. Data then exported to Microsoft Excel

Event Markers:
This function is used to identify specific points along the point trajectory: for example club head velocity at impact. Up to 20 event markers can be used for any one video clip. In order to create event markers that are visible on the analysis program, the user draws a line bi-secting the point trajectory. The point at which the line crosses the point trajectory in the main window will be indicated by a vertical line within the analysis program (see diagram below). This will then represent the impact point of the golf club with the ball.

Filters & Exporting Data (Raw & Smoothed):
All data produced in the Quintic Digitisation module can be exported to Microsoft Excel. One simple click away, this feature allows for further analysis of the raw data. Butterworth Filters, Spectral Density Function, Residual at Cut of Frequency, Interactive Frequency Analysis, Mean, Standard Deviation, Durban Watson...

Distance Measurement:

This tool allows you to measure a distance (metres/feet) on the video file once it has been calibrated.

Quintic Multi Camera Capture - 4 LIVE Cameras:

  • Record 50/60 frames per second LIVE video from upto 4 cameras (PAL/NTSC Mini DV Camcorders).

This entry level video analysis software is designed specifically for trainers, coaches and farriers. The system is

completely potable and instant visual feedback can be obtained.  This software also has split screen technology and also allows videos to be synchronised which is ideal for looking at pre and post assessments. In addition it also has a memo pad, zoom function, the ability to draw lines, measure angles and other alignment guides which can be used to analyse the movement and interaction of either the horse and/or rider.

Product Features - Summary

  • Split screen, video synchronisation and loop

  • Drawing Tool, Lines, Circles, Arrows,, Shaped and Text

  • Video Calibration - Measure Distance

  • Markers and Stopwatch (Time measure)

  • Angles - Horizontal, Vertical and Freehand

  • Single Image Photo Editor

Split Screen, Synchronised Analysis:

Videos can be looked at and synchronised so that they play together from the same point, this is especially

useful when looking at pre and post shoeing. It has also be used when looking at riders position pre and post

treatment or performance.

Drawing Tools, Drawing Tool, Lines, Circles, Arrows,, Shaped and Text:

All can be used to assist coach/farrier during analysis, The drawings remain

overlaid as the video advances allowing relative body motion to be

observed. The shapes and lines can be saved with the video file recalled at

a later date.

Video Calibration - Measure Distance

Calibrate a video file and measure any distance using the line drawing tool.

Coupled with the stopwatch feature allows the measurement of speed to be obtained through gaining the time

and speed data.

                                                                   Angles:

Allows the user to create an angle of reference on the screen.

There are three angle options: Freehand, Angle to the vertical

and Angle to the horizontal. You can display up to 10 angles in

the data table, all of which can be saved with the video file

and recalled at a later date.

Single Image Photo:

Take a photo; copy photo to clip board or save it as a jpeg. Ideal for presentations or reports. Lines, angles and text are contained within the photo.
